SUNGEE, CHARKHANAH
A silk fabric formerly made at Benares, India. Woven on hand looms in broad checks. The broad stripes in both warp and weft were cut by smaller deeper coloured stripes. A piece 27-in. wide, 15 yards long, weighs 24-oz.
